Defining Characteristics of Bulimia Nervosa:
Bulimia Nervosa is a secretive cycle of binge eating followed by purging.
At first you eat quickly and take in large amounts.
Vomiting, fasting, exercise, laxatives or medicine are then used in order to stop an increase in weight.
These behaviors are followed with deep feelings of guilt and shame, anxiety or depression.
The bulimic person evaluates him or herself based on their perception of his/her body image.
The bulimic person is worried about weight, body shape and physical often features. Often they feel unattractive and fat.
Many times the bulimic person wishes they could return to their anorexic phase.
